Job Duties:

Field preparation including weeding, shoveling, and hoeing. Manually plant, cultivate, maintain, harvest, grade and pack fruits and vegetables. this includes transplanting, irrigation, pruning, and trellising. Propagate seeds and transplant into containers in the greenhouse. The farm has a commercial kitchen and workers may help prepare farm grown produce into value added products for sale on farm. The farm produces strawberries, tomatoes, okra, blueberries, blackberries, melons, pumpkins, lettuce, cole crops, cucurbits and other fruits and vegetables as market conditions warrent. Cut and stack firewood. Assemple shipping cartons. Load and unload delivery trucks. Apply and remove row covers on crops as weather conditions warrant. Install, monitor and maintain drip irrigation on crops. Maintain farm structures as necessary. The work requires prolonged bending, stooping and reaching. Must be fast with hands and very agile. Work hours vary daily based on crop conditions, weather, conditions, and market conditions. All tools and supplies will be provided by the employer at no cost to the worker.
