- Loberg Farms, situated in northeast Nebraska, operates as a family-run agricultural enterprise managing approximately 4800 acres dedicated to corn, soybeans, and hay, specializing in irrigated row crop production. Employees must have with familiarity in center pivot irrigation systems considered advantageous. The position follows a seasonal schedule, aligning with crop growth stages and varying seasonal demands. Responsibilities encompass all aspects of field preparation, including attaching farm implements such as plows, discs, sprayers, and harvesters to tractors using bolts and hand tools. Operators are involved in planting, weeding, spraying, and harvesting activities, as well as fertilizing, dusting, and applying crop sprays as needed. Operating and maintaining tractors, planters, sprayers, seed drills, and irrigation equipment, along with servicing and repairing pivot irrigation systems, are crucial tasks. Vigilant monitoring of machinery for malfunctions, loading and unloading crops, and driving pickup trucks for transportation are routine duties. Additionally, driving trucks exceeding 3-ton capacities, including tractor-trailer combinations, for product, livestock, or material transport is required. Safe maneuvering of trucks into loading or unloading positions, performing basic vehicle upkeep like oil and fuel checks, minor repairs, and ensuring vehicle roadworthiness, are also expected. Candidates should demonstrate proficiency in securing cargo for transportation and uphold a strong commitment to detail, farm safety, and operational efficiency at Loberg Farms.
