Job Duties:
Animal Care: Feed, water and monitor the health of the sheep and livestock, identifying and alerting livestock manager of any identifiable injury or sickness Herd Managing: Assistance with separating and tagging sheep into various pens and or grazing paddocks. Managing the movement and herding of sheep to different pastures and ensuring secure and safe environments. Basic Maintenance: Ensure all equipment and pens are clean and in working order and alerting our Maintenance crew for any repairs needed Record Keeping: Keep record of individual animal health on tags, updating breeding records, track mating, lambing dates and or lineage. Monitor feed inventory, ensuring supplies were sufficient and request to order more when necessary. Pasture Management: Rotated grazing areas to sustain pasture health and prevent overgrazing. Implemented strategies as directed by our permaculture experts for sustainable land management. Identifying and removing invasive plant species to protect pasture quality. General Farm Work: Performed additional farm-related tasks, including cleaning pens, managing feed supplies and performing seasonal tasks such as weed abatement, snow removal, irrigation and preparation for adverse weather conditions.

Special Requirements:
3 months experience working on a livestock farm. Employer-paid, post-hire drug testing required in order to ensure workers are not under the influence while working with heavy machinery, livestock and or in specific conditions where clear cognition is absolutely mandatory due to safety concerns. Any worker who declines to take or fails a drug test will be terminated for cause. Experience in regenerative ranching, such as AMP grazing, permaculture systems and or sustainable ranching is preferred, but not required.
