Job Duties:

Record information about crops such as pesticide use, yields, or costs; Direct and monitor work during planting and harvesting of crops; Participate in the inspection, grading, sorting, storage, and post-harvest treatment of crops such as working with bins and augers to load carts and trailers; Repair and maintain farm vehicles, implements, and mechanical equipment; Inform farm managers of crop progress; Operate tractors, tractor-drawn machinery, and self-propelled machinery (much of which is equipped with John Deere GPS) such as tractor, combine, spreader to plow, harrow and fertilize soil, or to plant, cultivate, spray and harvest crops such as corn, soybeans; Load inputs and drive trucks to transport to fields, load crops and drive trucks to transport to fields and storage facilities such as elevators, bins, silos, piles/bags; Clean work areas and maintain grounds and landscaping; Maintain inventory; Trap and destroy pests such as moles, gophers, and mice; Haul and spread litter fertilizer and other materials to condition soil; Repair farm buildings, fences, and other structures; Mix materials, dump solutions or seeds into planter or sprayer machinery; Attach implements using hand tools; Attend to live farm animals such as cattle; Weigh containers and record weights and identifying information; Guide products on conveyors to regulate flow through machines, discard rotten items; Position boxes/bags at ends of machinery to catch products, remove and close full containers; Package crops.

Special Requirements:

Three (3) months recent and verifiable experience required for the job duties listed. Must be able to obtain appropriate drivers license following hire and obtain clean driving record. Be able to lift up to 50 lbs. Once hired, worker may be required to take a random drug test at no cost to the worker. Testing positive for an illegal/controlled substance or failure to comply may result in immediate termination from employment.
