Job Duties:
Performs any of the following tasks to attend to cattle on farm in a feedlot setting. Monitoring all aspects of the feedlot operation including the daily inspection of all waterers and any maintenance needed on the facility itself. Mixes feed and additives, fills feed troughs with feed and water for livestock and remove ice formed in water. Examines animals to detect diseases and injuries. Vaccinates animals by placing vaccine in drinking water or feed using syringes and hypodermic needles. Applies medications to cuts and bruises, spray livestock with insecticide. Binds or clamps testes or surgically removes testes to castrate livestock. Clips identifying notches or symbols on animal, or brand animal, using branding iron, to indicate ownership. Routine maintenance on all equipment used in the feedlot including pay loader, tractor, mixer wagon, and bale processor. Maintain breeding, feeding and costs records. Worker will also help with the shipping and receiving of cattle as well as hauling the feed to the cattle. Cleans livestock stalls and sheds, using disinfectant solutions, brushes and shovels. Drive to town to pickup feed. Cleaning pens which includes the hauling and spreading of manure on our farm.

Special Requirements:
Minimum of 3 months of experience is required. Must be able to obtain a driver's license within 30 days of hire. Lift and carry items weighing up to 50 pounds. The worker will be exposed to extreme temperatures. Extensive pushing and pulling is required. Extensive sitting is required. Extensive walking is required. Frequent stooping is required. Repetitive movements is required. Wage rate may increase with verifiable experience. Employer may reward exceptional work with monetary or other benefits in addition to those listed here in his sole discretion.
