Job Duties:

General farm workers needed for Crawfish, Rice & general farm work. Crawfish work includes: manually cut fish for bait; load bait into trucks and take to ponds; bait traps; check traps; operate motorized Crawfish boat; traps are removed from the pond, Crawfish are emptied into sacks, traps are re-baited and put back into pond. Worker then loads the Crawfish sacks into truck and returns to shop; unload Crawfish sacks, weigh sacks of Crawfish and put on pallets, then stores them in freezers; return to pond to check for broken levees; repairs traps. Lifting requirement of 40 lbs; repetitive movements & frequent stooping. Rice work includes: assist with shoveling of rice, spreading of rice in bins, cleaning up rice spills, assist with loading/unloading rice trucks, maintain farm equipment & land, wash farm equipment, general maintenance of rice bins, and maintain grass on levees. Upkeep of farm equipment & shop; All tools, supplies & equipment are provided at no cost. Housing provided on the premises at no cost. Employees may make above hourly wage and or receive bonuses based on work performance and experience, maybe subject to random drug screen paid by employer upon hire or if suspicions arise-- this is a drug free work zone. Transportation and subsistence expenses to the worksite will be paid by the employer upon completion of 50% of the work contract.
