- Job Duties:
- Crops/Commodities: Honey. Perform manual and mechanical duties related to commercial beekeeping and honey production, focusing primarily on winter maintenance. Responsibilities include regular hive inspections, feeding, and treatments to ensure colony health and prevent diseases, parasites, and predation. The worker will reinforce hive structures, monitor hive activity, and take corrective actions as needed, including maintaining proper hive environments to prevent cold exposure or moisture buildup. Most importantly, the worker will prepare bees and equipment for California almond pollination, ensuring all hives are in optimal condition for transportation and future pollination contracts.
