- Job Duties:
- Prepare traps for crawfish harvest - put bait into the traps and drop them into the ponds from boats. Harvest crawfish by pulling traps out of the water and into the boat. Empty traps into sorters, sort crawfish by size and put into crawfish sacks. Re-bait traps and drop back into the pond. Load crawfish onto trucks for shipping. General farm maintenance, filling vehicles and outboard motors with fuel moving boats and trucks to crawfish ponds on the farm. Cleaning up by shop area and around farm. The workers are employed to collect crawfish that are harvested by driving tractors to launch boats and pulling traps from ponds that contain crawfish. The crawfish are dumped into sorting trays; the traps are are re-baited and dropped back into the pond. Work as farm labor to do what is required as workers on the farm, as directed by the farm manager.
