Job Duties:
Shuttle drivers will pick up workers from housing, take them to worksites, field walk, and drive workers back to their housing. The drivers main job activity is to direct and monitor the work of casual and seasonal help during planting and harvesting. They will also assist with simple daily vehicle maintenance checks (DOT pre and post trip inspections) and filling water jugs with drinking water for the workers each morning. Other duties may include loading/unloading and irrigation. Shuttle drivers are required to live in the housing provided by the employer and take workers once a week to the grocery store and laundromat. While operating a company vehicle during the period of employment, the driver must possess a valid driver's license issued by the United States or foreign equivalent license in order to operate the vehicle in accordance with license restrictions and vehicle classification applicable to that license. Shuttle drivers also must have or be able to immediately obtain a valid state and federal Farm Labor Contractor Certificate of Registration and must also abide by all the requirements of the Migrant and Seasonal Agricultural Worker Protection Act (MSPA). Background check and random drug testing will be post-hire at the employer's expense. The employer understands that they are responsible for assuring that all conditions of this agreement are met, regardless of any acts or omissions of the driver. Bus driver qualifications/requirements: CDL Class A driver's license with passenger endorsement 1 year of experience driving a school bus and field walking FLC or FLCE registration card with driving authorization Florida State Farm Labor Certificate with driving authorization Medical exam certificate Ability to communicate with harvesters in their spoken language A criminal background check will be conducted post-hire at the employer's expense. Criminal background checks will be conducted post-hire as the worker will be housed with other Dunson Harvesting workers. Employer will require a drug test to be conducted post-hire also at the employer's expense.
