- Job Duties:
- Job requires tending to livestock in the forms of feeding, examining, tagging, herding, checking livestock, assisting with medication administration and vet visits, managing hay and providing it to the livestock as feed, mixing feed daily, ensuring water sources are not iced over, artificially inseminating heifers, moving portable corrals as required, calving cows and bred heifers, occasionally lifting and carrying newborn calves, and weaning calves from cows. Job also requires operating various equipment including, but not limited to, tractors, front loaders, mowers, balers, and trucks with gooseneck cattle trailers or other cattle trailers connected to work with cattle, provide feed and water for cattle, prepare pastures for grazing, repair and maintain property borders, and transport cattle. There are few typical days and workers may be required to change duties and/or locations often and engage in various general functions. Daily duties may vary depending on crop, weather, and field conditions.
