- Job Duties:
- The General Farm Hand position will be required to perform a variety of duties related to the production of crops. General farm work will include operating large farm machinery including tractors, sprayers, drills, tractor trailers, grain trucks, augers, etc., making minor mechanical adjustments/repairs on farm machinery; repair/replace fencing and farm structures; perform general cleanup of farm acreage; drive, load/unload trucks. Operate large self propelled sprayers, pull type sprayers, and back pack sprayers to apply chemicals. Most duties are performed out of doors, and may entail exposure to heat, cold, dust, rain, snow and other environmental conditions common in fields. Worker must crouch, bend, lift and carry items weighing up to 100 pounds. Must be able to obtain a Driver’s License. Employer provided items (at no cost to the worker): All tools and equipment necessary to perform the duties assigned as well as transportation between worker(s) on-site housing and the work site. A two-way radio will be provided for farm communications at no cost to the worker. Workers must speak enough English to communicate well with employer and be able to record farm data to provide to employer.
