Job Duties:

Worker will be required to perform a variety of duties related to the production of hay, grass and cattle. The majority of the work activities during the overall contract period, however, will be related to livestock production. General Farm Work will include the following responsibilities: maintain, drive, attach and operate farm implements/tractors/equipment to harvest crops; inspect, maintain and repair equipment, machinery, buildings, pens, yards, and fences; remove rocks from field; perform general cleanup of farm areas; drive, load/unload farm trucks on, or between, farm worksites; transport crops to onsite storage facilities; operate motor bike or all-terrain vehicle or ride horse in the course of performing duties; workers possessing the proper licensure may be asked to transport other farm workers. Irrigation duties will include the following: Flood Irrigation: clean ditches; set plastic dams. Duties related to the production of Livestock will include the following: check physical characteristics, observe general condition of livestock and apply the appropriate care; examine animals to detect illness/injury/disease, rate of weight gain or to determine delivery time, assist in delivery; apply or administer medications/vaccines; feed/water livestock; drive equipment to haul/distribute feed/water; herd livestock; hoist/stack bales of hay onto wagon/truck; herd cattle on horseback.

Applicants must have 20 days experience with farm/irrigation work and livestock care, including the ability to ride a horse, and provide the contact information of at least one reference who can verify experience and performance. Applicants hired must be able to obtain a valid Drivers License as driving on public roads may be required.
