- Workers will be on call 7 days per week and 24 hours per day. A normal workday consists of 9 to 10 hours of work, depending on the tasks that are needed to be accomplished that day. Some workdays may consist of 12 to 14 hours of work when they can’t be avoided due to cattle being in confinement. A normal work week consists of 6 days of work per week. Because this work is for agricultural work in Texas, it is exempt from the over time laws. Worker must be able to perform all duties on the range that are necessary in connection with the herding and production of cattle and must be able to perform all duties off the range that are closely and directly related to the herding and production of cattle. A majority of workdays will be performed on the range. Workers will be responsible for guarding and protecting livestock from predatory animals and poisonous plants; feeding, fattening, and watering cattle; examining cattle to detect diseases, illnesses, or other injuries; administering medical care to sick or injured cattle; applying vaccinations and spraying insecticides on the range; and assisting with the breeding, birthing, raising, weaning, castration, branding, and general care of cattle. Worker must be able to ride and handle horses in a manner to assure his or her own safety, and must also be able to rope newborn calves for processing. Workers will be provided, without charge, a cellular phone with a mapping application or applications, and will be required to have GPS location sharing active on all days, including rest days so that employer can locate them should it need assistance. Workers will also have use of trucks and utility vehicles that will have GPS tracking devices installed so that employer can help them navigate the range. Workers must be able to learn to use a cellular smartphone and its mapping applications and GPS tracking devices so that employer can communicate with workers and help them navigate the range and perform their job duties. Exposure to extreme temp, repetitive movements, extensive pushing, pulling walking and frequent stooping <div>Applicants must possess a driver’s license issued in the country of which they are a citizen. Workers must strictly follow employer’s instructions with respect to their work, treatment of one another, and employer’s premises, housing and equipment. Workers must maintain the sleeping and resting house and the cooking, eating and resting house in a clean and orderly manner. Workers must cooperate with one another in cleaning and keeping those houses clean and in an orderly manner. No use, possession, or presence of beer, liquor, or illegal drugs is permitted or tolerating at any time. Workers are prohibited from doing any work or any favors at any time for anyone other than employer. Workers are required to maintain a work environment in accordance with these rules and in accordance with employer’s instructions. This includes a duty to self-police one another and monitor each other for any violations of work rules. Workers are obligated to report any such violations immediately to employer. Failure to report known violations, or participation in concealing such violations, will constitute cause for termination of employment.
