- Job Duties:
- Job requires the operation of various tractors and farm equipment to plow land and till soil; work ground; prepare and maintain land; and plant, irrigate, fertilize, spray, cultivate, harvest, and transport crops to storage area. Equipment that workers may be required to operate includes, but is not limited to, tractors with various implements, equipment that utilizes GPS and auto-guidance systems, sprayers, combines, backhoes, mowers, track-hoes, and chisel plow. Non CDL farm trucks will be loaded with agricultural products and driven on the farm and to storage facilities. Job requires performing general maintenance, repairs and/or clean-up of storage sheds, pivot points, buildings, and all farm equipment; ensuring operational areas are organized and well maintained; using hand tools and equipment to repair, clean and maintain farm vehicles, machinery and specialized machinery and agricultural equipment; regularly servicing equipment; cleaning around the farm; spraying bushes; chopping and spraying weeds in fields; repairing flat times, wheel bearings, painting pipes, trailers, etc.; minor welding for equipment repair; trimming trees and mowing; repairing fences, tearing down old fences and barns if needed; sanding; and painting around the farm if necessary. There are few typical days and workers may be required to change duties and/or locations often and engage in various general functions. Daily duties may vary depending on crop, weather, and field conditions. The employer reserves the right to increase workers' pay or provide bonuses based on tenure, performance, or other factors that are solely based on the discretion of the employer.
