Job Duties:

Watermelons - Workers will perform assigned duties as instructed by their supervisor. Duties may vary from time to time. Duties may include tilling soil, applying fertilizers, transplanting, pulling weeds, raking, cleaning around shed areas, thinning/pruning crop, applying pesticides, tying, loading and unloading stakes, cleaning, and operating forklift. Workers may also take cuttings for propagation, repair drip irrigation, perform irrigation work, dig ditches and trenches, and perform daily farm maintenance. Plant produce by hand placing into pre-dug holes along rows. Workers must adhere to all safety rules as instructed by the supervisor. Workers must take care to handle tools, equipment, and produce in a manner to avoid injury or damage. The employer will comply with all federal, state, and local safety requirements. Operational specifications can change during the season due to crop or market conditions. Workers will be expected to conform to the specific instructions given for each day's work. Instructions and general supervision will be provided by the employer or a designated employee. Workers will have close supervision to ensure adherence to instructions. Work will be closely monitored and reviewed for quality. Daily individual work assignments. General farm labor. Workers with drivers license may be asked to drive workers to/from housing, worksite, and grocery store.

Special Requirements:

Must be 18 years or older. Employer may conduct criminal background check at employer's expense. All tools, supplies, and equipment will be provided at no cost to the workers. The majority of the day is spent on one's feet. Valid driver's license required to operate company vehicles. Lifting Requirement is 60 lbs. Worker must be able to withstand working in the direct sunlight and weather conditions ranging from hot and humid weather, moderate rain and cold while performing their required job duties. Must assist with all Good Agricultural Practices policies. Workers should expect periods of little/no work because of weather/crop/other conditions beyond the employer's control. Workers should come prepared wearing appropriate clothing and footwear for the environmental and working conditions described.
