Job Duties:
Duties may include: Maintain colonies of healthy bees by ensuring there are sufficient food reserves. Worker will need to construct hives and replace combs, collect and package any hive products including honey, beeswax and pollen, and make decisions on yards such as when to provide treatments, split hives, harvest honey and all other beekeeping decisions. Worker will build and manage queen rearing operations, ensure breeding yards are kept at optional level of production, and maintain strict control over disease and pests. Worker will identify and report hive health concerns, market honey products to consumers or distributors (in small work settings), and prepare colonies for both production and wintering during season changes. Worker must not be allergic to bee venom, honey, or pollen from trees or plants. Worker will be expected to wear and maintain protective clothing and gear at all times, clean and maintain beekeeping equipment, keep colony records & other related Beekeeper activities as per SOC/OES 45-2093 (onetonline.org). Possible weekend/holiday work.

Special Requirements:
Must have 3 months of experience in beekeeping. Must be 18 years of age. Worker has 3 days from date of hire to show proof of legal authorization to work in the United States. Drug/alcohol/tobacco free work zone. Static strength; exert max muscle force to lift, push, pull, unload, carry objects up to 90lbs (possible 2-person); may climb, walk, stand, reach, balance, sit, stoop, bend, squat, wash, clean: equip, grounds, area. All applicants must be able, willing and qualified to perform work described and must be available for the entire period specified and work throughout all areas of intended employment. Variable weather conditions may apply. Worker must be able to obtain a valid US Driver's License within 2 weeks of reporting to work.
