- Farm Mechanic’s Assistant: Reports to: Shop Manager/Supervisor, Vineyard Managers Works under the direction of Mechanic and maintenance personnel Supervises: None This individual is responsible for the inspection, maintenance, and minor repair of tractors, and other farm equipment on the farm. Basic Job Responsibilities: Basic Repair and maintain farm vehicles, implements, and mechanical equipment. • Assist in servicing and maintenance of farm equipment and implements • Perform minor repairs • Move equipment • Replacing hydraulic hoses • Drive forklift

- Must have 1 month of work experience working with the mechanical repair of wine grape-related farm equipment. Workers must be able to lift 50 lbs frequently. No smoking, drinking, or illegal weapons or controlled substances in the fields or in housing. Able to stoop, bend, and work in cold and wet conditions. Safety use and training is provided by the employer. Work is performed in the shop and outdoors in open fields and can involve exposure to sun, wind, mud, dust, heat, cold and other elements of the normal field environment. Temperatures can range from 20 degrees F to over 100 degrees F during the period of employment. Workers should come prepared with appropriate clothing and footwear for the work and working conditions described.
