Job Duties:

Shuttle Driver + Blueberry Worker: Drive a bus or van over the road to transport farm workers on a planned or scheduled basis as directed by the employer or supervisor. Driver may pick up workers from different housing sites or pick up points and take them to assigned work site, transit between work sites, and return workers back to the housing site or pick up point at the end of the work day. Make trips to grocery stores, laundromat, airport, and governmental agencies, medical and dental offices. Must abide by precise instructions and strict but necessary safety rules and policies. Check vehicles to ensure that mechanical, safety and emergency equipment are in good working order. Maintain logs of working hours following all applicable state and federal regulations. Employer assures that driver will be paid the offered wage rate for actual driving time, including but not limited to trips to fuel vehicle and time spent maintaining the vehicle. Perform manual labor including planting blueberry plants in field, pruning/shearing field-grown blueberry plants, manual labor on a mechanical blueberry harvester, hand-harvesting blueberries, packing blueberries, and hoeing. Grade, sort, or classify berries by size, weight, color, or condition. THIS JOB DOES NOT INCLUDE OPERATING OR DRIVING MECHANICAL BLUEBERRY HARVESTER, TRACTOR OR FORKLIFT. Load and unload crops and farm materials. Workers will walk along rows as specified by employer and remove weeds and grass from fields by hand or using a hoe. May operate and perform minor maintenance and repairs on farm vehicles, implements and equipment. May repair fences, greenhouses, farm buildings and other structures, or perform irrigation activities. Perform farm, field and shed sanitation duties. Mow grass and operate trimmer around farm buildings. Direct and monitor the work of casual and seasonal help during planting and harvesting. May operate farm vehicles to haul crops and drive other farmworkers from place to place around the farm properties (including on public roads to reach farmer’s fields) during the workday. May operate light truck or van off the farm and over the road to drive themselves or other farmworkers from place to place, such as to the grocery store, bank, government agencies, medical or dental offices and so forth. May operate truck with GVWR of less than 13 tons to transport crops produced on the farm (in its unmanufactured state) to storage or to market or to a carrier for transportation to market. All workers are required to follow common sanitary practices at all times. This is particularly important when touching crops for human consumption. Workers are required to cleanse their hands by washing thoroughly with soap and water before entering field for harvest activities and after each break. Smoking and the use of tobacco products prohibited during working time.

Special Requirements:

Requires valid commercial drivers license issued by a U.S. state or foreign equivalent with passenger endorsement. Must be at least 23 years of age. Must obtain a DOT medical examiners certificate before commencing work. Requires 12 months CDL driving history.Prolonged walking, standing, bending, stooping, and reaching. Job is outdoors and continues in all types of weather. Workers may be requested to submit to random drug or alcohol tests at no cost to the worker. Failure to comply with the request or testing positive may result in immediate termination. All testing will occur post-hire and is not a part of the interview process. Negative result may be required post-hire and before commencing work. Must be able to lift and carry 75 lbs. repetitively throughout the workday. Must not hinder another workers productivity. Use of personal cell phone or other personal electronic device during working hours strictly prohibited except for work-related calls or emergencies and
