- Job Duties:
- We farm 4700 acres of row crop consisting of irrigated rice, soybeans and corn. We use Fendt, Challenger, Case and Massey Ferguson tractors. Several of the duties of seasonal workers would include: loading and unloading grain trucks moisture sampling grain bins washing tractors and trucks picking up trash around the shop, grain bins and irrigation wells mowing around facilities and wells with zero turn Ferris and Bad Boy mowers weedeating around the same places as mowed rolling out and picking up poly pipe installing rice spillways removing rice spillways inspecting and adjusting irrigation water sweeping shop helping to empty out grain bins including shoveling and sweeping assisting in repairs of grain bins assisting in repairs, lubrication of trucks, tractors, equipment blowing dust off of combines and other equipment Will be required to climb excess of 10' Job duties may include and are not limited to tasks such as: apply products such as fertilizers, pesticides, growth inhibitors, etc, attach/detach implements, be able to handle working in high humidity, clean work areas, guide products on conveyors to regulate flow through machines, inform farm managers of plants or crops progress, load crops and drive trucks to transport to and from fields and/or storage locations or facilities, load and unload materials and commodities, load inputs and drive trucks to transport to fields, maintain grounds and landscaping, mix materials, dump solutions or seeds into planter, spreader, sprayer type machinery, operate self propelled machinery, participate in the inspection, grading, sorting, storage, and post-harvest treatment of crops, position boxes/bags at ends of machinery to catch products, remove and close full containers, repair and maintain farm vehicles, implements, and mechanical equipment, repair farm buildings, fences, and other structures, set up repair, maintain, and operate specialized equipment, tilling soil, transplanting, weeding, thinning, pruning crops, use hand tools such as such as shovels, trowels, hoes, tampers, pruning hooks, shears, loppers, and knives, use hand tools such as wrenches, crow bars, air tools, electric tools, weigh containers and record weights and identifying information, work in extreme temperatures. Equipment such as but not limited to the following will be used/operated by the workers in conjunction with the duties being performed: air seeders, augers, bins, silos, loading and unloading facilities, combines or other harvesting equipment, GPS guidance systems, grain carts, forklift, irrigation equipment, mowers and other landscaping equipment, pickups, cars, etc, planters, self-propelled machinery, semi trucks, skid steers, sprayers, straight frame trucks, tillage equipment, tractor/trailer combinations, tractors. The workers will be performing the duties to help produce: corn, rice, soybeans.
