1.Plant, weed, and harvest mixed greens, including but not limited to: potatoes, strawberries, raspberries
2.Packing mixed greens, including but not limited to: potatoes, strawberries, raspberries, cabbage
3.Bunch mixed greens, including but not limited to: potatoes, strawberries, raspberries, cabbage
4.Pick produce according to color. Exercise care to prevent bruising or damaging of produce.
5.Farm clean up tasks to include picking up garbage around the farm and other hand tasks.
6.General irrigation duties (moving and setting pipes, opening and closing gates).
7.Comply with employers food safety program
8.Hand weeding
Job Duties:
1.Preparing potatoes that are in storage for shipment.
2.Removing weeds from grass seed fi elds.
3.Spraying herbicides
This job requires 1 month of general farmworker experience working in corn, grass seed, strawberries, raspberries (specifically tying raspberries, potatoes) Hand Harvesting and picking of crops will
consist of harvesting vegetables according to grade, color and size by tying in bunches or loading in containers. Produce is grasped with the hands (knife may be used) and removed from the plant in a
motion so as not to harm adjacent vegetables. Produce is picked and placed into a crate. Worker examines harvested produce in boxes and sorts out any vegetables not meeting the grade, color and
size specifications. Worker will carry crate/box of up to 60 lbs. (Weight 50lbs or more - assistance allowed) to trailer. Care must be exercised at all times to prevent bruising or breaking of plants/produce.
Pruning raspberry bushes according to established company procedures based on the difference in the treatment of different varieties. Work will be performed on trees for long periods of time using a variety of pruning equipment including had shears, hand loppers, hand saws. Pruning and thinning may be done from the ground or a ladder. Workers may be required to selectively prune only
bushes of a certain size and color as instructed by the supervisor.
Workers can also:
1.Drive tractors
2.Spray and mix chemicals and fertilizers
3. Drive trucks to transport farm equipment, harvested crops, and farmworkers to and from different locations within farm
4. Workers may drive trucks weighing 26,000 lbs. to deliver crops from fi elds to potato sheds and silage pits within the farm.
5.Perform general repair of agricultural equipment to include cleaning mud and dirt off equipment, exchange disks, grease fittings, top off oil, prepare equipment to be driven for the day
6.Pack crops into containers
