Job Duties:
This is a permanent crop, perennial agricultural job position. It requires significantly more skill than simple annual crop picking and associated tasks. Tasks such as pruning and shoot thinning are highly skilled. Training will occur in all areas. Specific tasks/job duties would include but not be limited to: 1. Winter Season: a. Pruning, trellis maintenance, fence maintenance, rock removal, compost spreading. 2 Spring: a. Early - Shoot thinning, sucker removal, mowing, weed whacking, herbicide spraying. b. Late - Bloom petiole sampling for lab, leaf pulling, flower pruning, canopy tucking. (The vineyard worker/tech may be requested to take a sample from the bloom of a vine to be sent offsite by the vineyard manager for analysis of macro and micronutrient levels of the vines). 3. Summer: a. Early - Canopy tucking, sucker removal, mowing, spot fertilization, spot composting. b. Late - Young vine training, netting, fruit drop/thinning, veraison petiole sampling (the vineyard worker/tech may be requested to take a veraison sample from a vine to be sent offsite by the vineyard manager for analysis of macro and micronutrient levels of the vines). 4. Fall: -Regarding fruit sampling (the vineyard worker/tech may be requested to take a fruit sample from a vine to be brought to the vineyard manager to determine the sugar and acidity levels of the grapes). a. Fruit sampling, mowing, pick prepping, early variety picking, net removal and storage. b. Fruit sampling, mowing, picking, net removal and storage, bin cleaning. c. Misc. end of season projects

B.4. Certification/License Requirements: Employee will receive training to apply for a PUP Certified Applicator (Private) license for applying pesticides and fungicides to the vineyard. Driver requirements: License for using company vehicles: Workers are requested to hold a current and valid drivers license in order to operate our company vehicle. The vehicle is a 2016 Ford F-150. In the event the worker does not possess a current drivers license, a licensed employee of Page Springs Vineyards will operate the vehicle and drive the worker to and from the work site or wherever they need to go.
