- Job Duties:
- The primary goal of the Field Laborer/Nursery Worker is to plant starter nursery stock on our 200-acre farm and to grow them to a large caliper size for future use in our retail, wholesale, and municipal market sales. The process includes the following operations: Preparation: Preparing the farm soil conditions for planting. Planting: The process of root pruning, planting the starter trees, shrubs, and perennials. Maintaining: Irrigating, fertilizing, weeding, pruning, staking, dividing, and cultivating. Harvesting: Digging the trees, shrubs, and perennials for the final sales market. Worker will operate tractors and tractor-drawn machinery and self-propelled machinery to grow and harvest nursery stock, plants and shrubs. Harvest full-grown crops requiring digging, balling and heavy lifting (50 lbs. overhead). Work in all weather conditions. 3 months experience with agricultural crop rotation and harvesting using both hand digging and mechanical methods. Must be able to operate mid-sized tractor, skid steer, plows, hand pruners and shovels.

Hours may vary based on weather and crop conditions. Employer agrees to provide to the worker, without charge or deposit charge, all tools, supplies, and equipment required to perform the duties assigned.
