- We are a row crop farm in South Georgia. We primarily grow peanuts, cotton, and corn. When growing these crops the field work usually starts in the spring. During the growing season our row crop operation requires additional employees in order to complete the day-to-day tasks. We start with field prep and planting in the spring, raising and caring for crops during the summer, and harvest the crops in the fall. There will be tractor work required on the farm, but when we are not in the field there will be lots of hands on manual labor. We work a lot in the shop repairing and Maintenace of equipment. There will be mowing around our farm and fields , and also picking up any debris or trash that may be on the farm, we like to keep our farm neat. We also have Cows on our farm. Duties with cows will be working cattle, feeding hay, spraying fence rows, and repairing any fence that may be broken. We want a team player and hard worker here on our farm to help with any situation we may have on the farm. Job duties will include: prepare fields for planting, attach farm implements such as plows, discs, sprayers, or harvesters to tractors, using bolts and hand tools, operate tractors, planters, sprayers, manure spreaders, irrigation equipment, operate other farm equipment, engage in planting, weeding, spraying and/or harvesting activities, fertilize, dust, and spray crops, spray fertilizer or pesticide solutions to control insects, fungus and weed growth, and diseases, using hand sprayers, install, maintain and repair pivot irrigation systems, load and unload crops or materials, manually or using conveyors, forklifts, or transfer augers, load hoppers, containers, or conveyors to feed machines with products, using forklifts, transfer augers, suction gates, shovels, or pitchforks, manipulate controls to set, activate, and adjust mechanisms on machinery, mix specified materials or chemicals, and dump solutions, powders, or seeds into machinery, observe and listen to machinery operation to detect equipment malfunctions, walk beside or ride on planting machines while inserting plants in planter mechanisms at specified intervals, attach equipment extensions or accessories, load crops and unload crops, operate equipment to harvest crops, complete maintenance and repairs on irrigation equipment, record agricultural data, haul crops, supplies, and tools, inspect, adjust, and complete routine maintenance and repairs on equipment Employer may provide pay increases for performance, longevity and/or experience at employer’s discretion. Employer may provide performance bonuses at the end of the contract at the employer’s discretion.
