Job Duties:
We operated a cow/calf operation that runs 12 months out of the year. Where livestock are grazing in 50,000 acres in rugged terrain. In order to maintain the health and wellbeing of the livestock and this ranch. It is necessary to perform daily tasks, such as: Calving Branding Doctoring Weaning Containing the livestock within fences Making sure everything has Feed/grass. Maintaining a pipeline system that carries water throughout the ranch for livestock to drink. We need workers on a permanent basis for the yearly operation of Price Canyon Ranch, but unfortunately, there are no legal means provided to satisfy that particular need. Instead, this temporary program is the only means the Federal Government has provided to hire workers not found otherwise in Arizona. Please accept the attached report prepared by the CDC and the PPEP on the challenges that farm producers face in order to continue their production, one of which is the lack of agricultural workers driven by demographic and policy changes, and the increasing dependence on migrant workers in the state. work is performed on the range for the majority (meaning more than 50 percent) of the workdays in the work contract period and that the worker is on call 24/7.

Required to: perform tasks capably and efficiently without close supervision. Spend the majority workdays on the range. Live and work singly or in small groups of workers in isolated areas for extended periods of time. To ride, handle and tend horses and livestock. Work outdoors in all types of weather and may experience occasional exposure to hazards such as poisonous snakes, biting insects and extreme temperature. Attend animals during all hours of the day as required for their safety and well-being. Maintain and manage remote housing locations in a safe and responsible manner. Work with and around farm machinery such as tractors for supplemental feeding purposes and ATVs for movement of livestock . Demonstrate commonsense and awareness of safe equine handling procedures , i.e. No running in barns, shouting, abusing animals , leaving gates/ stall doors/feed rooms open or smoking in or around barns , etc.
