Job Duties:
We are a full service professional custom harvesting business. Worker will be required to perform a variety of duties common to a Custom Harvester found in SOC Code 45-2091 Agricultural Equipment Operator such as and not limited to: Operate self-propelled equipment such as Case IH combines (with draper, stripper, and corn heads) and tractors that reaps, harvests, threshes, swathes, or winnows crops such as wheat, durum, canola, corn, soybeans, mustard, lentils, peas; Manipulate controls to set, activate, and adjust mechanisms on machinery including threshing and GPS settings; Drive and control equipment to support agricultural activities for harvesting crops; Perform safety checks on equipment; Observe and listen to machinery operation to detect equipment malfunctions; Operate equipment such as augers, grain carts, fuel/service trailers; Attach implements using hand tools; Clean, maintain, repair, adjust, service equipment, machinery, and work areas; Drive tractor with grain cart for tendering crops from the middle to the edge of the field, and drive truck with hopper bottom trailer for transporting crops from fields over surfaced (rock, dirt, pavement, etc.) rural roads to storage areas such as elevators, bins, bags, silos, and operating truck for transporting equipment and other tools used for harvesting from one field to another along the itinerary; Record information about crops such as yields; Participate in the inspection, grading, sorting, storage of crops. No smoking on the jobsites. Personal cell phone use is limited while clocked in and cannot interfere with performing your job duties. Workers must be able to speak and understand English. The workers hired under this job order will primarily perform certain job duties from within the job description; however, all workers may be expected to perform any of the job duties throughout the duration of the season; Notify supervisors when machinery malfunctions; Use either control mechanisms or direct physical activity to operate machines; Use hands and arms in handling, installing, positioning, and moving materials, and manipulating things; Compiling, categorizing, calculating, or verifying information or data; Perform physical activities; Entering, recording, or maintaining information in written or electronic form; Attach equipment extensions or accessories; Watch gauges, dials, or other indicators to make sure a machine is working properly; Performing routine maintenance on equipment. Knowledge of machines and tools, including their designs, uses, repair, and maintenance. The ability to quickly and repeatedly adjust the controls of a machine or a vehicle to exact positions. Employee will be exposed to adverse weather conditions due to the nature of this position being in the outdoors. Provide information to supervisors, co-workers, and subordinates by telephone or in person. Giving full attention to what other people are saying, taking time to understand the points being made, asking questions as appropriate, and not interrupting at inappropriate times. Special Requirements:
Three (3) months recent and verifiable experience required for the job duties listed. Must be able to obtain following hire appropriate CDL and obtain clean driving record to drive trucks. Be able to lift up to 100 lbs. Once hired, worker may be required to take a random drug test at no cost to the worker. Testing positive for an illegal/controlled substance or failure to comply may result in immediate termination from employment.
