Job Duties:

- Plant small trees in rows by hand. This job requires the person to be bending all day. - Remove weeds from rows using a nursery hoe avoiding damage to the tree. This job requires the person to walk and bend for long periods of time. - Irrigation – Repair, move, and connect irrigation lines. Install and repair sprinkler and other systems. This job requires the person to bend, shovel, and walk on muddy surfaces and lift up to 75 pounds. - Bud and tie grafts in the field, containers, or propagation department. This job requires the person to kneel all day with half of upper body supported by a cart when budding in the field or standing when done in the container trees or propagation. - Staking and tying trees walking on even and uneven ground. Placing, removing, and picking up stakes using a tape gun one and a stake pulling tool. This job requires physical strength as stake bundles can weigh up to 60lbs and the ability to twist and bend throughout the day. - Place grow tubes on trees. This job requires the person to walk and bend for long periods. - Pruning, remove buds and branches from trees using knives and/or pruners. This job requires the person to walk all day and bend for long periods of time. - Walk behind a tree/seedling digger and pick up trees or seedlings from the ground to shake the mud off. Trees can weigh 10-­40 pounds depending on the size of the tree and the humidity of the soil. Seedlings are picked up in small bundles. Shovel work might be needed to dig ditches or trees in the fields that digger can’t access. This job requires the person to walk, bend, and twist all day. - Working in the sawdust beds placing tied bundles of trees in those beds for storage and then assemble orders by pulling bundles of trees. The use of a shovel might be required to make space for new bundles and/or pull them out. Bundles can weigh up to 60 pounds or more and will require up to 3 people to pull stored trees. - Load trucks with plant material to be shipped to our customers. Bundles of trees or container trees weighing up to 50 pounds are loaded and stacked in the truck. This job requires the person to lift, twist, and use a conveyor. See Addendum C
