- Job Duties:
- We seed about 3000-acre as of durum, peas, and hay crops. We calves out about 300 cows in March. We put up about 1500 acres of hay during the summer. We wean calves off the end of October. During the winter months we do not have any crops growing and no additional care of cattle is needed. During the crop production season job duties will include attaching farm implements such as plows, discs, sprayers, or harvesters to tractors, using bolts and hand tools, operate tractors, planters, sprayers, seed drills, operate other farm equipment, manipulate controls to set, activate, and adjust mechanisms on machinery, operate equipment to harvest crops, drive pickup trucks to haul crops, supplies, and tools, inspect, adjust, and complete routine maintenance and repairs on equipment drive trucks, tractors, and other equipment. Transport crops, or equipment as needed. During the calving season March/April, while cattle are confined and not able to graze in pastures, employees will need to assist with cattle birthing and deliveries during the calving season and will need to distribute feed to animals while confined, herd livestock to pastures for grazing after the calving season, or to scales, trucks, or other enclosures, patrol grazing lands using all-terrain vehicles, operate farming equipment, transport animals when weaning calves.
