- Worker must have extensive experience safely operating and maintaining a chainsaw. Worker will perform assigned duties as instructed by their supervisor. Duties may vary from time to time and require using a variety of tools and equipment. Worker will be required to perform any general farm labor related to including, but not limited to: weed control, irrigation, drainage, cleaning, repair and maintenance of farm vehicles and equipment, field sanitation, hand piling limbs and branches, raking, hand baling pine straw, thinning/clearing/disposing of brush, digging and planting, spraying, mowing, trimming, sweeping, blowing, repair/replace fence in rough terrain, washing, sanding, painting, polishing, removal of dead or diseased trees with a chainsaws, manually hoist/stack limbs, pick rocks, replace damaged posts using wire stretchers, hammers, paint, brushes, etc. Worker must have experience with brush blades, power tools such as drills and skill saws, weeder tool, shovels, trowels, hoes, rakes, tampers, pruning hooks, shears, knives, etc. Worker will gather and load limbs, mulch, pine straw on trailers and move to various areas, unload and spread mulch and pine straw around plantings and dispose of limbs in designated area. Worker will maintain a 5-6 foot weed free strip between tree track rows by removing weeds, vines, grasses and invasive pests. Worker may scale tall trees and remove limbs and carry heavy tools and safety gear.
Worker may operate agricultural equipment to include, but not limited to tractor/loader/rear mounted implements and various attachments, zero turn mower, pick-up truck, car, ATV’s, etc
Worker will be responsible for cleaning and maintaining facility buildings, storage areas and grounds, equipment and tools.
Worker will be required to weekly inventory, clean and inspect, note any damage for all tools and equipment to ensure safe operation before and after each use. Worker is responsively for minor ongoing maintenance on machinery and implements, oiling moving parts and replacing damaged parts, as well as tools.
Worker will assist in preparation and completion of controlled burn efforts. Worker will be required to clear drainage ditches, remove brush and debris from trails, roadsides, and other areas as directed by manager. Worker will assist in tilling soil, applying fertilizers and pesticides, load harvested products, post-harvest clean-up & other related activities as directed by manager.
Worker must have experience with grounds keeping and landscaping. Workers will be trained on applying fertilizers and pesticides. Worker will inspect trees for damage, disease or insect infestation and remove or replace as directed by farm manager.
Worker may be exposed to hazards such as mosquitos, honey bees, wasps and other stinging or biting insects, poisonous snakes, fox, coyotes and other predators. Worker may be exposed to extreme hot and cold temperatures, ragweed, goldenrod, chemicals such as insecticides, herbicides, fungicides and other chemicals.
Worker must obtain Mississippi Drivers Lic within 2 months of arrival to job. Must be able to safely operate a moving vehicle in rainy and other hazardous conditions. Drive both on-road (paved) and off-road conditions. Use GPS and/or maps to navigate to destinations.

Applicants/Worker must be 18 years or older. Worker must be able to communicate in English. Three months recent work experience required. Your direct supervisors will be women. Must be proficient with chainsaw, string trimmer and farm equipment. Must be strong, hardworking and honest. Be able to lift 80-100 lbs. Be able to work efficiently unsupervised as well as supervised. Drug/alcohol/tobacco free work zone.
