- Job Duties:
- Workers will assist with two main tasks: to support the drilling of new farm stock/domestic wells, along with
maintenance and repair of established farm stock/domestic wells. In preparation, workers will start each day
at the shop loading necessary equipment and supplies onto their trucks for travel to predetermined
farms/ranches in the local and surrounding counties. During the drilling aspect of this job workers will: travel
to farmer's drill site, unload equipment, set up the drilling equipment, haul water in a 30000 gallon tank to well
site, connect drill pipe while drilling is in progress, remove drill pipe, install well casing and disassemble
drilling equipment. When working on stock/domestic well, maintenance and repair portion of job, the
employees will: inspect gear heads and change their oil, check for pump vibration and cavitation, remove pipe
and pumps from wells, transport and install irrigation pipes and pump hoists, heavy farm equipment such as
backhoes and trenchers, and hand tools, e.g. air wrenches, cutting torches and welders, is useful. Clear
brush and weeds by mower, weed eater, or sling-blade to access all pumps and wells, as well as company
owned property. Maintenance and repair of all company owned mechanical equipment. All tools, equipment
and supplies will be provided by the employer at no cost.
Shop duties which include but are not limited to: vehicle/truck maintenance, oil changes, sweeping,
organizing and care of shop, welding, rebuilding of parts, outdoor shop/landscape maintenance, mowing,
weed removal.
