- Job Duties:
- Drive and operate farm machinery such as tractors, ATVs, and self-propelled machinery to till soil, prepare fields, and plant crops; Perform mechanical repairs and maintenance on farm vehicles, implements, and equipment; Set up and operate irrigation equipment, including laying pipes, maintaining ditches, and ensuring adequate water supply to crops; Apply fertilizers, herbicides, and pesticides to crops using hand sprayers and other equipment; Plant seeds and seedlings using various planting techniques and equipment, including seed drill sand planters; Drive and control farm equipment to irrigate, cultivate, and harvest crops, adjusting implements as needed; Transport harvested crops to storage facilities, operating trucks and conveyors as needed; Monitor grain moisture levels and assist with grain handling, including loading and unloading grain bins; Clean and maintain storage areas and equipment, ensuring operational efficiency; Perform general farm labor tasks as needed, including landscaping, clearing debris, and maintaining farm grounds; Report any machinery malfunctions or operational issues to supervisors. There are few typical days and workers may be required to change duties often and engage in various general functions. Daily duties may vary depending on crop, weather, and field conditions. Workers may be asked, but are not required, to work on their Sabbath.
