Job Duties:

The candidate will work alongside the head shearer, assisting in all phases of the operation. Primary duties include: catching and holding of animals, trimming toe nails, maintenance of equipment, and potentially shearing animals depending on experience and success of training. Animals to be shorn include alpacas, llamas, sheep, and goats. 4 months experience with alpacas/llamas is a plus, but comfort around all livestock is required. Shearing experience is preferred, but not required. Training in all phases of the operation is provided and the candidate needs to be a quick learner. Candidate must be able to lift 75 pounds and preferably have a valid driver's license. The candidate will be working from farm to farm, traveling the east coast of the United States, with the head shearer. As such, strong interpersonal skills and the ability to deal with new challenges is required.

Due to the remote and unique nature of the work, employer will provide to the worker all tools, supplies and equipment as well as an electronic communication device in case of emergencies. 4 month experience handling livestock/animals, lifting 75lbs, repetitive movements, working as a team.
