Job Duties:
Shifts are 8 hours per day (7:00am-4:00pm Monday-Friday), and 5 hours on Saturday (7:00am-1:00pm), with a one-hour unpaid lunch. Mix or apply pesticides, herbicides, fungicides, or insecticides through sprays, dusts, vapors, soil incorporation, or chemical application on trees, shrubs, lawns, or crops. Fill sprayer tanks with water and chemicals, according to formulas. Identify lawn or plant diseases to determine the appropriate course of treatment. Cover areas to specified depths with pesticides, applying knowledge of weather conditions, droplet sizes, elevation-to-distance ratios, and obstructions. Running, maneuvering, navigating, driving/FLYING/piloting vehicles and/or aircraft and other mechanized equipment, such as airplanes, farm airplanes vehicles, mechanized equipment and other vehicles. Maintain machinery to ensure operating efficiency. Must be able to lift and carry up to 50 pounds. Must have minimum three (3) months' experience working on a farm. Required to work outside in extremely hot, cold, and/or wet weather. Allergies to ragweed, goldenrod, honeybees, insecticides, herbicides, fungicides, or related chemicals may affect a worker's ability to perform the job. Perform physical activities that require considerable use of your arms and legs and moving your whole body, such as climbing, lifting, balancing, walking, stooping, and handling materials. All tools, supplies, and equipment required to perform the duties assigned are provided to the worker, without charge or deposit. Hours may fluctuate due to weather conditions or mechanical breakdowns but will not reduce the 3/4 guarantee over the life of the contract. Possibility of work breakdown will not reduce workers guarantee over the life of the contract.

Special Requirements:
A pilot license and State-mandated licensure/certification for application or supervision of restricted-use pesticides as private applicator. Once hired, workers may be required to take a random drug test (at no cost to the worker), as part of fitness for duty and workers safety. Drug testing relates to safety assurance in a working environment. Testing positive or failure to comply with the random drug testing may result in immediate termination from employment.
