- We farm multiple crops on approximately 28,000 acres across the Texas Panhandle. Crops that we grow include but are not limited to cotton, wheat, rye, triticale, corn, sorghum, millet, cucumbers and sunflowers. Crops are all planted with John Deere tractors (mostly 9570's) and John Deere DB 90's and N560F air seeders. We utilize Trimble GPS equipment in all tractors and sprayers. We run two case 120' sprayers with Trimble GPS units. On average we will plant 15,000-30,000 acres of crops per year between summer and winter annual crops. We operate approximately 60 center pivot irrigation systems utilizing water from electric submersible wells. We are a 5th generation family farm that consists of both irrigated and non-irrigated farmland. Morals, ethics, hard work, humility, and attention to detail are the cornerstones of our operation and are expectations of or team members. Most cash crops are planted in the spring and harvested in the fall and early winter. Job duties will include: prepare fields for planting, attach farm implements such as plows, discs, sprayers, or harvesters to tractors, using bolts and hand tools, operate tractors, planters, sprayers, seed drills, manure spreaders, irrigation equipment, operate other farm equipment, engage in planting, weeding, spraying and/or harvesting activities, fertilize, dust, and spray crops, spray fertilizer or pesticide solutions to control insects, fungus and weed growth, and diseases, using hand sprayers, install, maintain and repair pivot irrigation systems, load and unload crops or materials, manually or using conveyors, forklifts, or transfer augers, manipulate controls to set, activate, and adjust mechanisms on machinery, mix specified materials or chemicals, and dump solutions, powders, or seeds into machinery, observe and listen to machinery operation to detect equipment malfunctions, attach equipment extensions or accessories, load crops and unload crops, operate equipment to harvest crops, complete maintenance and repairs on irrigation equipment, record agricultural data, drive pickup trucks to haul crops, supplies, and tools, inspect, adjust, and complete routine maintenance and repairs on equipment.
