Job Duties:
Farm Equipment Operator: Worker will be required to complete the following activities as directed by supervisor: operate farm machinery such as forklifts, tractors, mowers, cherry shakers, and trucks for harvesting and hauling crops including apples, asparagus, blueberries, cherries, grapes, peaches, and pears; prepare soil for crop planting using tillage equipment such as discs, high speed discs, cultivators, in-line rippers, and chisel plows to remove unwanted weeds and hand picking rocks while walking through soft soils; help prepare farm equipment for field work and harvesting; perform routine general repairs and maintenance of farm equipment, including check equipment fluids, change existing engine oil, grease farm equipment, inspect equipment and inform supervisor of any necessary repairs, and help check battery life, air filters, tire pressure, and other parts of farm equipment; drive Employer-provided vehicle to and from the worksite and to locations within 30 miles; drive tractor to and from fields while pulling different attachments; operate a tractor with box hauler unit to haul harvested crop from the field to the farm; assist with additional duties related to crop harvest; maintenance duties including mowing grass, picking up garbage around the farm, and cleaning farm machinery and buildings; complete daily safety inspections and general maintenance on tractors, vehicles, farm equipment and farm buildings; use basic maintenance tools such as a power washer, shovel, and other hand tools. Oversee job tasks to ensure quality standards are being met; analyze fruit tree thinning and fruit/vegetable hand harvest; scan workers ID badge; maintain count/weight records. Worker will be required to complete general field and orchard maintenance; weeding; shoveling; hoeing; mulch; trunk painting; hand fertilizing; thinning; pruning; grafting; tying limbs; planting or transplanting fruit trees; care and maintenance of nursery fruit trees; plant asparagus crowns; blossom removal; seeding orchard; install tree screens/grow tubes; complete harvest preparation tasks such as spreading liners in bins, wash and sanitize harvesting bins or repair harvesting bins; hand harvest to quality standards of apples, asparagus, blueberries, sweet cherries, tart cherries, grapes, peaches and pears; lay mylar in orchard; trellis system install, maintenance and removal; repair deer fence; irrigation systems install and maintenance; repair drain tile; complete general hand tasks to include picking up garbage around the orchard, removing old trees, string and wire from trellis and orchard blocks, picking up sticks, rocks and brush throughout the field/orchard, deter wildlife with dryer sheets or pheromone ties; conduct various field and farm clean up tasks at end of season.

Experience Requirement: 3 verifiable months of commercial agriculture experience driving farm tractors of minimum 80 horse power required. Applicants must furnish job references from recent employers within the last 3 years establishing acceptable prior experience. Job requires worker to complete tasks in farm equipment operation, general farm labor, hand harvest of apples, asparagus, blueberries, cherries, grapes, peaches, and pears. Employer will provide instructions and training on specific job duties. Season Commitment: Job offered requires worker be available for and worker agrees to work every day that work is available for entire employment period. Worker must be able to perform job description duties in safe manner consistent with established safety procedures. Drug screen not utilized as a pre-employment tool.
