Job Duties:

Agricultural Equipment Operators Observe and listen to machinery operations to detect equipment malfunctions. Operate or tend equipment used in agricultural production, such as tractors, and irrigation equipment. Adjust, repair, and service farm machinery and notify supervisors when machinery malfunctions. Attach farm implements such as plows, discs, sprayers, or harvesters to tractors, using bolts and hand tools. Farm machinery is used to help with soil preparation, crop planting, harvesting, and crop processing. Workers' activities include cleaning and preparing farm equipment for daily use. Workers will conduct post-harvest, end-of-season activities, including repairing, cleaning, and preparing farm equipment for the following season. Farmworkers and Laborers, Crop Harvest of tree crops and vegetable crops; crop/field maintenance; planting; weeding with long stick hoe. Placement and removal of wood stakes, string and plastic required for growing crops. Weeding with a long stick hoe and harvest of peppers (various varieties), tomatoes, almonds, eggplant, garlic. Irrigation - move aluminum pipe, install drip tape, drip tape & aluminum pipe connection, shovel work. Harvest vegetable crops: Jalapeno Peppers, Bell Peppers, mini peppers, Habanero Peppers, Garlic and tomatoes. Packing vegetable crops: Jalapeno Peppers, Bell Peppers, mini peppers, Habanero Peppers, Garlic, Eggplant and tomatoes. All packing is done on the farm. All Worksites are within a normal commuting distance from the central pick-up location (Los Banos housing). Employer-provided transportation is available to all workers from the central pick-up location. All workers residing within the AIE can reasonably return to the their residence or the employer-provided housing within the same workday. Worksites are clustered around Gilroy to the East and Le Grand to the West, with Los Banos located centrally in between both worksite clusters.

Variable weather conditions. All work must be performed in a manner that exhibits Generally Accepted Practices (GAP) and the utmost food safety at all times. Requires 3 months of experience in harvesting crop(s) and/or agricultural activity identified in this job order. Verifiable work experience is required. See Addendum C
