- Job Duties:
- Work may include, but not limited: Planting, cultivating and harvesting various crops such as, vegetables, flowers, and plants in field and greenhouses. Use hand tools, such as, shovels, hoes, pruning shears, knives, and ladders. Duties may include tilling the soil, applying fertilizer, transplanting, weeding, thinning, pruning, applying general use pesticides under the supervision of a licensed applicator, picking, cutting, cleaning, sorting, processing. Loading and unloading trucks for market. Laying out and removing plastic from fields. Cleaning fields and greenhouses throughout the season. General farm upkeep such as but not limited to , set up, operate and repair farm machinery, repair fences and farm buildings, also may participate in irrigation activities, picking rocks, cutting brush. Feeding, cleaning, caring for, and moving of livestock such as cattle, and hogs. Work is usually performed outdoors, sometimes under hot or cold and/or wet conditions. Work requires workers to bend, stoop, lift and carry up to 50lbs on a frequent basis. Duties may require working off the ground at heights up to 20ft using ladders or climbing. Some workers may be required to work second shift and pick at very early hours such as 3:00 am to 7 am, depending on crop and market demands. Given the nature of our diverse operation workers must be able to adapt to changing needs on any given day. 30 days experience in duties listed required.
