Job Duties:

The Nursery Worker will perform various basic nursery activities associated with sowing and pruning of trees and perennial plants. Participate in the planting process performing duties, such as laying out trees, shoveling soil and hand straightening trees. Participate in the digging process, including trying up plants, sewing burlap and hand digging. Perform weed control by hand weeding and hoeing. Water plants in the field and containers as needed. General pruning. The workers will aid in soil preparation, including removing weeds and debris from fields. Cultivate fields and prepare for planning. Assist with irrigation of plants. Spray, monitor, trim and discard plants. Hourly work schedule may vary based on weather. Overtime required based on need. We are filing under the emergency procedures as we are filing outside of the required timeframes. The employer previously filed Form ETA790 and ETA9142A (JO-A-300-24355-564117 and H-300-24355-564117), however the ET9142 was denied because CNPC did not receive the housing certification. The employer submitted its housing application, however, the state housing inspector that he was working with is no longer employed with the agency, so the paperwork was not processed. If the emergency procedure request is not approved, the employer will suffer extreme hardship as the entire season will be delayed.

Ability to lift 80 lbs. Random drug testing may be required at employer expense post-hire to both H-2A and domestic workers. Employer agrees to provide to the worker, without charge or deposit charge, all tools, supplies, and equipment required to perform the duties assigned.
