Job Duties:
*All work will be performed in the field and on the farm. Field Worker: Celery harvest -Plant, cut, bunch, pack, and load fresh celery in the field. Cutting is done by using hands and cutting knife. Using a harvesting hand knife and bending at the waist, the employee cuts the stalk from the roots and trims the outer stalks from the stalk to prepare it to be packed into a carton or tote in the field. The process is repeated. Workers may operate Farm harvesting equipment and tractors, as needed to harvest the crop. Workers may then transport the packed celery to the packing facility to load and unload the celery. The loading and unloading of celery is incidental to and in conjunction with the farming operations. Workers may perform weeding. Workers may wash, clean, and store all farm equipment, wagons, and totes, etc. WIP (Work in Progress) Facility Worker: After field harvest, continual work is performed in the Work In Progress Facility. Employees will do a variety of tasks; forklift operation, staging product, tote dump, inspection, shoveling waste, slicing/dicing inspection area, removal of waste, assemble shipping containers, tote fill, scale, ticketing, scanners, daily production logs and final celery packaging. All employees will assist with daily sanitation both outside and inside the facility. This work falls under the definition of secondary agriculture as it is performed by a farmer and is incidental and in conjunction with the harvest activities. All celery is owned by the Employer. Agriculture Field Irrigators: Move sprinkler irrigation pipe, set up fields for irrigation, lay drip tape, pick up pipe on to trailers, weld drip tape, stack irrigation pipe, and check and unplug sprinklers. Move sprinkler irrigation pipe and irrigation pumps, set up fields and wastewater lagoon for irrigation, as needed, irrigate crop daily, change gaskets/sprinkler heads, set up for frost control, pick up pipe on to trailers and stack for storage. Workers may operate agricultural equipment such as UTVs on the farm.

Special Requirements:
Minimum Job Qualifications: 1 month experience working with celery harvest is required and 1 month experience working with irrigation on a farm. Specific requirements include lifting up to 50 pounds frequently and able to use hand tools, including cutting knives, and walk in uneven terrain. Must be able to work under conditions where skin and clothing become heavily soiled with mud, water, grease, etc. Must be able to work outdoors in inclement weather conditions, including rain, cold, high winds, etc. Work involves frequent bending and working in bent or stooped positions. Must be able to walk and stand up extensively. No smoking, alcohol, firearms in the field or residential housing.
