- Job Duties:
- Workers will perform assigned duties as instructed by their supervisor. Duties may vary from time to time. Clearing ground of rocks, sticks & roots by hand, clear brush and trees. General field & fence maintenance. Use wood to build and repair boxes for digger with the use of nail guns or hammer. Manually weeding fields by hand or using hand tools (machete, hoes). Drain water from fields with hand tools and shovel when needed. - Sweet Potatoes – Workers wills assist with cutting potato slips by hand with a knife, place in boxes to load & unload onto trucks. Dipping potato slips. Walk behind potato trans planter and fill in slips by hand. Ride the mechanical trans planter and load slips in planting cups. De-vining plants by hand. Covering beds with plastic. The workers may be asked to operate farm equipment such as forklift, skid loader and the tractor to dig and transplant potatoes, in sweet potatoes’ fields. Workers with driver license may be asked to drive workers from/to housing, worksite, and grocery store.

- Special Requirements:
- Valid drivers license required to drive the companys vehicles. Must be 18 years or older. Three (3) months experience needed for hand cutting sweet potato slips and use of mechanical trans planter. Employer may conduct Background Checks to all new applicants at the Owner's Expense. All tools, supplies and equipment will be provided at no cost to workers. The lifting requirement is 5-60 lbs. Work in extreme weather conditions. Must be able to work with minimum supervision. The majority of the workday is spent on ones feet and outdoors. Workers may stand in one place for any period of time.
