- Job Duties:
- I have a 750 acre hay operation. 250 acres I grow alfalfa and grass hay to be swathed, raked, and baled to sell later. I also run a self propelled forage harvester for customers. My equipment consists of late model equipment with primarily John Deere machines and older freightliner/kenworth trucks. Job duties may include and are not limited to tasks such as: apply products such as fertilizers, pesticides, growth inhibitors, etc; attach/detach implements; be able to handle working in high humidity; clean work areas; haul and spread materials such as but not limited to fertilizer to condition the soil; load crops and drive trucks to transport to and from fields and/or storage locations or facilities; load and unload materials and commodities; load inputs and drive trucks to transport to fields; maintain grounds and landscaping; mix materials, dump solutions or seeds into planter, spreader, sprayer type machinery; operate self propelled machinery; repair and maintain farm vehicles, implements, and mechanical equipment; repair farm buildings, fences, and other structures; set up repair, maintain, and operate specialized equipment; use hand tools such as shovels, trowels, hoes, tampers, pruning hooks, shears, loppers, knives, wrenches, crow bars, air tools, and electric tools; work in extreme temperatures. Equipment such as but not limited to the following will be used/operated by the workers in conjunction with the duties being performed: bailers and other hay equipment, combines or other harvesting equipment, dirt moving equipment, mowers and other landscaping equipment, pickups, cars, etc., self-propelled machinery, semi trucks, silage choppers, skid steers, straight frame trucks, swathers, bailers, and other hay equipment, tillage equipment, tractors. The workers will be performing the duties to help produce: grain sorghum, hay, silage. Must speak and understand English.
