Job Duties:
This application encompasses the production of onions, asparagus, beans, corn, sugar beets, mint, and row crops. All other duties assigned under this order will be those duties of Farm Worker and Laborer Crop, Nursery and Greenhouse, under the Bureau of Labor Statistics Occupational Employment Statistics Standard Occupational Classification Code 45-2092. Workers that possess a valid driver’s license and are insurable may drive vehicles to transport crops, equipment and workers. Irrigation Job Duties: Hand lines: 1. Connect pipes 2. Check the alignment of pipe and adjust for proper water distribution 3. Attach lines to water supply 4. Turn on pump 5. Turn valves to start flow of water 6. Disassemble lines and carry pipes across fields at specified intervals 7. Move pipes through freshly irrigated crop and/or plowed fields where mud may be deep at times 8. Lift and carry pipe sections weighing approximately 60 pounds on a sustained basis Please see Addendum C.

Special Requirements:
3 months of verifiable experience working with onions, asparagus, beans, corn, sugar beets, mint, and row crops. Must be able to lift 50 lbs. Worker can ask for help lifting objects over 60lbs. Workers must possess physical strength and stamina necessary to repeat harvest process throughout workday. Workers must work at a sustained, vigorous pace and make good faith efforts to work efficiently and consistently that are reasonable under weather and all other working conditions. Workers may never ride on agricultural equipment not designed for work-related driving purposes or any other equipment not intended for passengers unless directed and authorized by the employer or supervisor. If light duty is assigned for a WC injury, worker is expected to return to work and perform light work upon the advice of a doctor and the WC insurance company. Must be able to understand work & safety instructions in English or Spanish, the languages spoken & written in the workplace. See Addendum C.
