- Job Duties:
- We operate 5500 acres with 1500 acres of it being dryland crop and 4000 acres native pasture. We primarily raise forage for our cattle, but also grow forage sorghum, grain sorghum, triticale and wheat. We run older John Deere equipment. Our cattle operation numbers 350 cow/calf pairs and we typically run 200 stockers through the winter. Job duties may include and are not limited to tasks such as: apply products such as fertilizers, pesticides, growth inhibitors, etc; attach/detach implements; clean work areas; direct and monitor work during planting and harvesting; load crops and drive trucks to transport to and from fields and/or storage locations or facilities; maintain grounds and landscaping; mix materials, dump solutions or seeds into planter, spreader, sprayer type machinery; repair and maintain farm vehicles, implements, and mechanical
equipment; repair farm buildings, fences, and other structures; tend to livestock by feeding, medicating, general care, grading, sorting, working, placing identification on, or relocating; tilling soil, transplanting, weeding, thinning, pruning crops; use hand tools such as wrenches, crow bars, air tools, electric tools. Equipment such as but not limited to the following will be used/operated by the workers in conjunction with the duties being performed: augers, bins, silos, loading and unloading facilities, bailers and other hay equipment, GPS guidance systems, grain carts, horseback riding for sorting, caring for livestock, mowers and other landscaping equipment, pickups, cars, etc, planters, skid steers, sprayers, swathers, bailers, and other hay equipment, tillage equipment, tractors. The workers will be performing the duties to help produce: cattle, grain sorghum, hay, wheat. Must speak and understand English.
