- Job Duties:
- Worker will be required to perform a variety of duties related to the production of potatoes and sugar beets. The majority of the work activities during the overall contract period, however, will be related to general farm work. Worker will be required to perform a variety of duties related to the harvesting of potatoes. Potato or sugar beet harvest duties may include removing rocks from field prior to harvest; duties will include sorting and picking diseased/rotting product, rocks and any foreign material from the harvested crop; alerting equipment operator of equipment malfunctions and/or clogging of built up product; aid the equipment operator in correct machine performance; worker may be guiding trucks to appropriate position to unload; worker may be unloading/loading trucks; drive, load/unload Ag exempt, non CDL 10-wheel trucks to transport crops to onsite storage facilities; laying vent pipe in the potato storage units and using a wheelbarrow to haul and move dirt and debris; maintain/repair fencing. Other duties may include helping equipment operators disassemble and then reassemble cellar equipment as it is moved from one storage area to another. Worker will be required to keep a clean working environment in and around the storage areas; workers possessing the proper licensure may be asked to transport other farm workers.
