Job Duties:
Coffee worker responsibilities include harvesting coffee cherries utilizing both hands and the operation of mechanical farm equipment to maximize throughput and maintenance of the coffee farm. Coffee workers will utilize various tools and equipment, including, but not limited to conveyors, washers, ripe/green coffee cherry separators, pulpers, demucilage machines, dryers, scales, manual hauling, forklifts, trucks, and trailers (on farm only), baggers, containers, cleaning equipment, silos, de-stoners, moisture meters, hullers, polishers, sizers, density tables, color sorters, computers, and various hand tools. Coffee workers will be responsible for any farm duties as assigned by Global Ag Services Inc. Workers may also assist with tagging of coffee lots, entering coffee information into software system via field tablets or computers, and loading or unloading product and delivering it to milling and storage services. Workers may also utilize farm equipment while maintaining the State of Hawaii's Kona Hills, LLC's safety and quality standards. Coffee workers will also be maintaining and harvesting coffee cherries. Harvesting coffee cherries requires hand harvesting ripe coffee cherries with a basket carried around the waist. Coffee workers may also be responsible for regulating the flow of coffee cherries into the cherry washing, separation, pulping, demucilaging and drying equipment. Workers may also load/unload coffee dryers and monitor dryer operation temperature, moisture level, drying time, and ensure proper identification and tagging of coffee lots. Coffee workers may also operate conveying, de-stoner, hulling, polishing, sizing, density, and color sorting equipment, along with bagging equipment. Workers may inspect assigned fields and do repairs when malfunctioning pipes, fittings, low pressure, plugged tubing, or other problems preventing proper irrigation applications. Workers may do field maintenance work such as removing noxious/invasive weeds in the orchard with use of brush cutters, sickles, hedgers, and various other tools. Coffee workers may be assigned orchard maintenance, building maintenance, equipment maintenance and crop maintenance tasks as assigned by Global Ag Services Inc. Workers must follow housing and transportation rules for the safety and comfort of the workers.

Special Requirements:
Minimum 3 months verifiable agricultural hand labor experience working on a coffee farm. Workers must be able to perform manual activities with accuracy and efficiency. Drug testing is conducted at employer's expense: post-hire/prior to employment, upon reasonable suspicion, post-accident and at random or periodically. Must be able to understand work & safety instructions in English or Spanish, the languages spoken and written in the workplace.
