Job Duties:

Workers will support essential off-season operations at a grain farm during the winter period. Primary responsibilities include maintenance of farm equipment and vehicles such as tractors, combines, sprayers, trucks, and tools. Tasks include disassembly, inspection, lubrication, electrical work, and refinishing equipment to ensure readiness for the spring planting season. Workers will also perform general repairs on farm facilities, including remodeling work such as painting, waterline repair, floor/wall replacement, insulation, and minor carpentry. Additional duties involve clearing snow from driveways and work areas, removing debris and tree lines using tractors or loaders, and assisting with construction or installation of storage infrastructure as needed. Work is conducted in cold, snowy conditions and requires physical endurance, mechanical aptitude, and safe handling of tools and equipment. This is a temporary, seasonal position during the farm's non-planting months, unrelated to standard in-field work during spring/summer. Termination Clause: Employment is at-will. However, the employer typically follows a progressive disciplinary process before termination, which includes: Written Warning, Final Warning, Termination Notice. This approach promotes fairness while maintaining the employer’s legal right to terminate employment at any time under applicable labor law.

Special Requirements:

Minimum of 3 months of experience is required. Lift and carry items weighing up to 60 pounds. The worker will be exposed to extreme temperatures. Wage rate may increase with verifiable experience. Employer may reward exceptional work with monetary or other benefits in addition to those listed here in his sole discretion. Operator License Class D Candidate will have 60 days to obtain.
