Job Description

- Job Duties:
- Assist with health and well being of feeder cattle on winter wheat; Inspect, maintain, prepare, repair livestock machinery, pens, yards, fences, hot wire, feeding and watering facilities; Put out bloat blocks; Monitor calf health daily; Administer medicine as necessary; Bale corn stalk hay for livestock feed, supplement cattle by feeding; Pull cattle off winter wheat to be sorted and sold; Drive truck to move livestock and feed hay; Use hand tools such as shovels, scoops, brooms, for sweeping, cleaning, and repairing grain bins, augers, and dryers; Repair farm vehicles, implements, and mechanical equipment; Direct and monitor the work of casual and seasonal help; Shift animals between grazing areas to ensure that they have sufficient access to food; Clean stalls, pens, and equipment using disinfectant solutions, water hoses. Must speak and understand English.

- Special Requirements:
- Three (3) months recent and verifiable experience required for the job duties listed. Must be able to obtain appropriate drivers license following hire and obtain clean driving record. Be able to lift up to 50 lbs. Once hired, worker may be required to take a drug test at no cost to the worker and be subject to the employers drug free and alcohol free workplace policy including testing protocols. Testing positive for an illegal/controlled substance or failure to comply may result in immediate termination from employment.
