Job Duties:

Performs any of the following tasks to attend to livestock: Checking fences daily. Maintaining fences and clearing snow away from gates, feed bunks and waterers. Clearing snow from shelter areas to maintain access. De-icing water tanks and automatic waterers. Hauling water to cattle in remote pastures. Hauling feed to pasture cattle. Clearing feed bunks from accumulated snow and frozen fees. Clearing farm roads to provide access for milk hauler and feed and fuel deliveries. Clearing local roads to provide access for employees. Inspecting cattle for illness and injuries, treating or removing them as necessary. Sorting pasture cattle. Moving cattle to and from pasture. Maintaining doors, buildings and gates as affected by winter weather. Cleaning bedding and maintaining calf housing. Preparing equipment for spring field work. Drive to town to pick up cattle supplies.
