Job Duties:

Duties may include: Plant, spray, weed, fertilize, water, and harvest sod using hand tools. Haul and spread topsoil, fertilizer,and other materials to condition soil, using wheelbarrows or carts and shovels. Set up, operate, maintain and repair irrigation system Clean work areas, and maintain grounds and landscaping. Load rolled up sod and tools into trucks. Operate tractors, tractor-drawn machinery, and self-propelled machinery to cultivate, mow and harvest sod. Inform farmers or farm managers of crop progress. Repair and maintain farm vehicles, implements, and mechanical equipment. Workers may assist with pest control on 800 acres sod farm & other related Farm Worker activities as per SOC/OES 45-2092 (onetonline.org). Possible weekend/holiday work.

Special Requirements:

Must be 18 years of age. Worker has 3 days from date of hire to show proof of legal authorization to work in the United States. Drug/alcohol/tobacco free work zone. Static strength; exert max muscle force to lift, push, pull, unload, carry objects up to 50lbs; may climb, walk, stand, reach, balance, sit, stoop, bend, squat, wash, clean: equip, grounds, area. All applicants must be able, willing and qualified to perform work described and must be available for the entire period specified. Based on Employer's discretion and at employer's cost: Worker may have random drug/alcohol testing during employment: positive test/refusal to abide = dismissal. Drug testing is due to the safety-sensitive nature of operating equipment and vehicles. Variable weather conditions may apply. Bonus potential based on work performance at the sole discretion of the employer. Employees are expected to keep employer-provided vehicles clean and free of trash.
