Job Duties:

Seasonal Job Statement – Fence Builder and Sheep Shearer (10-Month Position) We are seeking seasonal agricultural workers to assist with both farm and ranch fence installation and sheep shearing over a ten-month employment period. This is a temporary, full-time position requiring physical labor in an outdoor rural setting. Primary Duties Include: 1. Fence Building (Contract and On-Ranch Fencing): Workers will install and remove various types of farms and ranch fencing, including barbed wire, net wire, and metal T-post and cedar post fences. Fencing tasks include Clearing land and preparing acreage for new installations Removing existing fencing, including metal posts and damaged wire Operating and maintaining heavy equipment used in the fencing process Constructing gates, livestock holding pens, and water stations as needed Lifting materials weighing up to 40 lbs and walking extensively across work areas 2. Sheep Shearing: Workers will shear wool from live sheep using hand shears or power-driven clippers. Duties include: Leading sheep to and from pens and shearing stations. Maintaining clean, organized shearing areas Oiling and sharpening shearing equipment (tools provided at no cost) Safely handling animals throughout the shearing process Must be able to perform both fencing and shearing duties Ability to work outdoors in various weather conditions Capable of performing physically demanding tasks for extended periods Willingness to follow safety protocols and instructions from supervisors Work is expected to take place over a ten-month period aligned with agricultural needs and operational schedules
