- Job Duties:
- L/S Hay INC is seeking a winter employee to assist in the off-season repair and maintenance of the farm’s irrigation systems and equipment. Off-season property preparation will include gofer baiting using a tractor and pull-behind baiter, closing sprinkler tracks, repairing and filling trail roads, and mowing overgrown weeds. Job duties for sprinkler maintenance and repairs include winterizing all sprinklers and related equipment, lubricating well motors, checking above-ground pipelines for cracks or other defects, and repairing or replacing any damaged drop hoses or watering pads. The employee will also check indicator light function and repair as necessary, inspect, clean, and tighten all tower electrical connections, and perform inspection, lubrication, and adjustment of the center pivot structure. Additional responsibilities include inspecting, cleaning, and tightening electrical connections in the pivot panel; inspecting, lubricating, and performing all necessary repairs or adjustments to tires, drive gear boxes, drive shafts, U-joints, and the center drive unit. Employer may provide pay increases for performance, longevity and/or experience at employer’s discretion. Employer may provide performance bonuses at the end of the contract at the employer’s discretion.
